Make it at Home: Bob Marley

At Secrets St James Montego Bay and Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay, it is only fitting that we would name our signature cocktail after the one and only Bob Marley. This delicious and refreshing drink is a favorite among our guests and is the perfect treat to accompany your Jamaican getaway.

Guests are always asking for the recipe, so today we’d like to share how to make our signature Bob Marley frozen drink!

Ingredients:
light rum
blue curacao
orange curacao
strawberry daiquiri mix
fresh mango
sweet and sour mix
lime juice
ice

First, start by making the red portion of the drink by combining 1 oz light rum, 4 oz strawberry daiquiri mix and 1 cup of ice in a blender. Mix ingredients and pour into the bottom of the glass.

Next you will need to combine 1 oz of rum, 3 oz of chopped mango, 1 ½ oz of sweet and sour mix and one cup of ice in a blender. Mix ingredients together to create the yellow portion of the drink. Pour only half of the mixture into the glass.

Take the remaining drink mixture and blend with ½ oz of blue curacao to create the green portion of the drink. Pour into the glass.

Enjoy!

  1. Oh see…this is so NOT fair!!! We were at Secret’s Wild Orchid in May and there were no “frozen” Bob Marleys to be found!!! We were so looking forward to have a few 😦 (very sad face!!).

    • You would add the orange curacao to the middle layer. I would say about 1/2 oz . So then after that when you have the left over mixture then you can put in the blue curacao to make it green.

      • Any thoughts on where and how much lime juice to add? They have it listed in the ingredients but not the recipe! Thanks!!

  2. Please, Please, Please, the recipe for Jamaican smiles (the frozen drink). Its all we drank on our honeymoon and its all we can talk about at home!

  3. I stayed at the Secrets of St James last July and it was absolutely gorgeous. Will be going back again very soon. The frozen Bob Marleys were delicious! I agree with the Jerk Sauce, I bought a bottle of it, but it doesn’t taste the same here in the states.

  4. We had such a great time at Secrets St. James and enjoyed these wonderful drinks! I knew what it was right away from the image!

  11. So, I see in the list of ingredients there is lime juice and orange curacao but in the recipe, it doesn’t mention either one. Where do those 2 ingredients come in? And, it also doesn’t mention dark rum in the ingredients but I definitely remember them floating dark rum on the top.
