Facebook Meet-up in Jamaica Kicks Off in Style

The Facebook meet-up with over 250 fans at Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James Montego Bay finally commenced after months of anticipation! To kick off the celebration in style, we hosted a welcome cocktail reception for all of our Facebook fans on Wednesday, November 9th. If there is one thing we know how to do in Jamaica, its how to throw a good party!

We started off the night by honoring our Facebook fans for their generous contribution to Garland Hall and Blessed Assurance, two local orphanages in the Montego Bay area. We invited the children from these orphanages to our event, who sang “You Raise Me Up” and “Lean on Me” which spoke to the group’s contribution and how it has helped them to feel special and loved.

Our eConcierge Caulette Mornan gave a warm welcome speech to all of our guests. We then presented three special Facebook fans (Jim Parson, Jan Penberton and Susan Ellis Muphy), with plaques in recognition of their efforts for the Secrets Community Enhancement Project. The local media was present to capture the event and interview “Facebook Jim” (aka Jim Parson), who spearheaded the Facebook meet-up at Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James.

Then the party really got started! Our Facebook fans had a great time mingling with one another, dining on fantastic food, enjoying delicious drinks and dancing the night away to lively music.

Here are a few pictures from the Facebook welcome reception. Stay tuned for more updates about our first ever Facebook meet-up!
