We are excited to announce that Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St. James Montego Bay will be sponsoring the first annual Jamaica Blog Awards! The Jamaica Blog Awards was founded to celebrate blogging talent in Jamaica and acknowledge excellence in this dynamic medium of expression that has swept the island.

The Jamaica Blog Awards will take place on January 16, 2011 at 7 pm and will be streamed live online. The night promises to be full of entertainment, surprises and most importantly, acknowledgment of the creativity and talent of Jamaican bloggers. Nearly 300 blogs were nominated across 16 categories. The category winners and the winner of the Jamaica Blog of the Year Award will be revealed during the show. 

We are proud of the country in which our resorts are located and we are always looking for unique opportunities to support local talent. In July 2010, we teamed up with the Jamaica Tourist Board to host a Bloggers Retreat with influential bloggers from both near and far. Since then, we were approached by one of the bloggers who attended the retreat with the opportunity to support the Jamaica Blog Awards.

We are proud to support the local Jamaican blogging community once again and will be giving away the grand prize for the Jamaica Blog of the Year Award —-a free-3 night stay to either Secrets Wild Orchid or Secrets St. James!!
