During my recent visit to Los Cabos, I, along with three of my friends, were lucky enough to have the chance to head over to Secrets Marquis Los Cabos for the day. It was i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e! Our day couldn’t have been more perfect! As soon as we arrived, we were in awe. The iconic archway in the lobby with a 40 foot waterfall showcased amazing views of the Sea of Cortes, stretching as far as the eye could see.
Speckled throughout the resort are some really great pieces of artwork from local artists. The perfectly-placed Angel Wings, sculpted by Artist Jorge Marin, represent a peaceful and harmonious experience. Interestingly enough, there’s a bit of a story as to how Angel Wings came to reside at Secrets Marquis.
“As they fly over Baja California Sur, the Angels searched for a new paradise and decided to land at Secrets Marquis Los Cabos. Two of the Angels, located in the lobby have their wings open and are standing on a globe, which represents Earth. As they walk through the resort, discovering the beauty and splendor of the resort, a sense of peace and harmony fall over them. They want to stay…yet, they hesitate. As they finish their journey, they end up at the main swimming pool where they decide they will stay and shed their wings, becoming human again.”
As we made our way to the pool, we noticed the grounds were immaculately cared, which really gave us a tranquil experience. We grabbed some lounge chairs and set-up-shop to catch some rays 🙂 I can’t say enough how truly exquisite this resort is. From the rooms to the pools, every bit of our visit was impeccable. The pool and beach staff were amazing – waiting on us hand-and-foot! It was as if they knew when were thirsty and when we were hungry, we never had to ask for a single thing.
Armando, our pool waiter, was so helpful in recommending the perfect, fruity and frozen beverage, especially for someone as indecisive as I am when asked ‘What drink I get for you?’, I thoroughly enjoyed 2…orrrr 4 of these tasty concoctions. The food was phenomenal – hands down the best ceviche we’ve ever had. Every inch of the resort features some of the most remarkable views of ocean. By the end of the day, we were fully bronzed, just like the statues, and full of drink and food and wishing we could stay longer!
Below is a quick snapshot of our day at Secrets Marquis Los Cabos. Enjoy 🙂
