April is Autism Awareness Month, and at Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, we wanted to do something special to raise awareness of this serious condition that is now believed to affect an average of one of every 68 U.S. children, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Autism rates have risen nearly 30 percent between 2008 and 2010 alone.
Secrets Capri staff and guests raised awareness for the need to make the world a better place for those living with autism and the need for further research in to the disorder by coming together to form a man-made autism awareness ribbon, with each person holding up a different colored piece of paper to represent the multi-colored ribbon’s puzzle pieces. Check out the above video, especially the aerial shot at 2:16 of the human ribbon! To learn more about autism and National Autism Awareness Month, click here.
