On romance:
Q: You and your boyfriend have busy schedules. How and why is it important to make time to go on a romantic getaway?
A: As much time as we may spend together at home, there is nothing like reconnecting with one another when we are on vacation and relaxing away from the buzz of everyday life and work. Plus, we love to make special memories and have new experiences together, especially discovering delicious local food!
Q: How did you celebrate New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day together?
A: We spent New Year’s Eve relaxing on the beach, and while we were there, the concierge pleasantly surprised us with an invitation to a traditional indigenous cleansing ritual to usher in the new year, taking place a bit further down the beach! It was such a special experience, unlike any I’ve had before. That night we enjoyed dinner and a performance at the resort. On New Year’s day we took a mini-road trip to meet some friends in the magical land of Tulum!
On travel:
Q: What are your favorite/must-do bucket list things to do and see in Mexico?
A: After a few trips to Mexico, I have seen Cabo San Lucas, Cozumel, areas in and around Cancun (including Playa Mujeres!), Tulum, and Playa del Carmen, and yet there are so many more places to go! Mexico City is at the top of my list!
Q: How do you stay fit while on vacation and how do you recommend others stay fit and active while traveling?
A: We walk wherever and whenever possible, and try to limit our more indulgent dining to just dinner. We like to eat lightly throughout the day with salads, juices, smoothies, cocktails.
Q: When traveling, what are your must-do spa activities to help you unwind and relax?
A: I absolutely love a steam room and massage combo! Cannot live without!
