No less a literary lion than Ralph Waldo Emerson observed, “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds . . .”  My detractors (may a pox be upon all your houses) would probably say I am a rare double qualifier under both the “foolish” and “little mind” categories.

In each of the first two posts of my now “wildly popular” (my term)  Crème de Mexico series, there were five resorts listed.  See Los Cabos and Cancun.  So, in the interest of being consistent if not imaginative (See Oscar Wilde quote . . .  what is it with these people and consistency anyway?), I have tried every way possible to shoehorn only five resorts into the Riviera Maya edition of this series.  Is it my fault that luxuriant crème seemingly flows through the Mayan Riviera like butter off a stack of blueberry pancakes?

So, without further ado, here is…

Blogger Review of Secrets the Vine: Carolyn in Carolina

We love to hear about guest experiences at Secrets Resorts & Spas! In a recent blog post, Carolyn in Carolina, a professional blogger with a focus on travel, shared her vacation at Secrets the Vine Cancun.

Here is a couple of excerpts from her review:

When we arrived at Secrets the Vine, we were greeted with a cool cloth and a glass of champagne. I knew then, I was going to love this place.

The service was amazing. They knew our names and room number. When Tom wanted shrimp ceviche instead of the fish ceviche on the menu, the chef made it for him. I once asked if they had watermelon juice and they didn’t so I just had water. About 15 minutes later, Irving the host, came to our table with watermelon juice just for me. And it kept coming until we left.

Overall, this is one of the best resorts I have ever been to. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The service was fantastic. The food was good. Drinks were delish. And the room was comfy and modern.

Blogger Review! Secrets The Vine Cancun

It’s always easy for us to share with you what we love about all of Secrets Resorts & Spas—although, we are a bit biased! Between the luxurious spas, pristine beaches and unique beach activities, you can easily lose yourself in the paradise that is Secrets Resorts & Spas.

So instead of taking our word for it, take a look at what popular travel blogger, Irene Levine, More Time to Travel, has to say about Secrets the Vine Cancun. In her glowing review about the resort, Irene cites several aspects that make Secrets the Vine stand out above the rest.

“One of the nicest things about a stay at Secrets The Vine is that guests pretty much know what their vacations will cost them from the time they book their rooms and airfare. They can place their wallets in their in-room
safe until checkout.”

“Wine plays a supporting role, too, in enhancing the flavors of the resort’s extensive culinary offerings. Much like the specialty restaurants popular on cruise ships, guests can choose from eight dining options, with open seating that allows them to dine when they wish.”

“On a typical day, singles and couples choose from yoga instruction on a grassy area beside the pool; bocce ball or beach volleyball; water aerobics or watersports; or horseshoes, bingo or board games.”

We love to hear about guest experiences at Secrets Resorts & Spas! In a recent blog post, Jetsetter Gypsya popular travel and fashion blogger, shared her vacation at one of our newest resorts, Secrets the Vine in Cancun.

Here is a quick excerpt from her review:

My first impression upon arrival at Secrets The Vine was Wow!, this place is grand, chic, modern and more or less just like a W Hotel, so needless to say, just up my alley…

The attention to detail at Secrets The Vine was probably the hands down top quality of the resort.  This attention shined through in every aspect, from the impeccably decorated common areas that were elegant yet minimalistic, using all top quality exotic raw materials, fully equipped with a cozy fireplace wall that I could only imagine in the type of home you’d see on MTV Cribs, the wide marble hallways with ambient lighting, and the simple, clean lines of the guest rooms.  All the while, everything was perfectly maintained and new…yes, I did happen to be staying there over their official inauguration, but it was more the attention to detail that existed in their tremendous staff that was responsible for keeping this property in pristine condition.

Blogger Review of Secrets Capri

We love to hear what guests have to say about their vacations to Secrets Resorts & Spas. In a recent post, blogger, Peridot Skys, spoke about one of her favorite vacations, which just so happened to be an 8-day trip to Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun.

Here’s an excerpt from her blog:

The BF and I have taken many trips together. Generally, ok always to a beach!  But there is one particular vaction we always talk about.  It was our trip to Playa Del Carmen. We spent 8 days at Secrets Capri Riviera on the beautiful beach and only left the resort once. We actually only left the pool for the ocean once as well. It was spectacular. It was all inclusive and adults only. No kids splashing in the pool or screaming at their siblings. We spent the day traveling to arrive, and we were greeted with cool wash rags and champagne to complete our registration. Our room was ground level and we could walk right out to the pool no more than 50 feet away. This is my view from my patio.

This is the pool early in the morning as you cross over the arched bridge over the water. I crossed this bridge every morning to reserve our chairs.

An Unexpected Babymoon

We couldn’t help but share this great story and photos with you from blogger, Stories of Grandeur about her and her husband’s recent trip to Secrets St. James Resort & Spa. Enjoy!

First of all I have to brag about my super-successful and amazing husband. His company had a contest running throughout 2011 where the salesman with the highest number of rentals/sales to new customers (aka New Dollars) would win one of three top prizes. I may be a little wrong on the exact amounts but 1st place was a $5000 travel voucher, 2nd was a $3000 voucher and 3rd was a $1000 voucher. By the end of June, he knew that he was in 1st place and had a considerable lead. But with six months left to go, we weren’t packing our bags! By the time December rolled around we still knew he was in 1st place but the numbers weren’t live so we wouldn’t know for sure where he placed until sometime in January. By Friday, January 27, we heard that good news that Jordan had beat out 1400 other salesman throughout North America and he won the $5000 travel voucher! It took us about 24 hours to book our trip…

Although we were trying to be realistic that it wasn’t a sure-thing that he would win, we knew by January 1st that we wanted to go to Jamaica just the two of us (one of my 101 in 1001 goals too). After reading reviews a researching as much as we could, we had a few resorts that we had picked. With $5000 to spend, we also knew that this resort was going to be nice!

Secrets St. James in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The beach was incredible. White sands, crystal clear warm waters and drink service! I love a nice ocean and this was it! I’ve been to even more amazing beaches in Australia, but I didn’t swim in any of them for warnings of jelly fish and sharks… not something I’m really interested in. At this resort, the biggest concern was that the sand was so soft that you may lose your footing.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned on this blog that I am “with child” yet again… however, I think that most people who read this blog already know it anyway. The drink service on the beach (and around the pool) was awesome. I’ve been to all inclusives before and when you order a virgin drink it’s not always virgin.
