At Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun, our guests are delighted every day by our talented Entertainment Team, led by manager Alex Ortiz who is responsible for providing days and nights full of fun activities and live shows.

There’s always something fun going on at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun!

Alex says the Entertainment Team’s passion and love for their work gives guests great experiences throughout their stay. There is something exciting for everyone to do, including bike tours, cooking classes, salsa lessons, volleyball, bingo and too many other activities for us to name here. You’ll just have to come see for yourself! Even those not participating directly in activities have a blast watching others have the time of their lives.

Cooking classes at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun are a great way to bring a new skill back home with you after vacation is over!

According to Alex, finding the right staff is the key toward creating exceptional guest experiences at Secrets Maroma. He says he prefers to focus more on the personality of potential Entertainment Team members rather than their experience, choosing people who truly love what they do, always have a genuine smile on their face, project confidence and will create connections with guests.

Celebrate the Year of the Maya

The year of the Maya is here! The Maya was a very advanced culture, noted for its art and architecture, mathematical and astronomical systems and cuisine. They carved elaborate sculptures and reliefs, built sophisticated cities and temples, developed a highly accurate calendar, gazed at the stars in the observatories they constructed and utilized chocolate and corn in their food. We are celebrating the Mayan culture at the Secrets Resorts & Spas in the Riviera Maya.

Since December 21, 2012 marks a significant day on the Mayan Calendar– a day in which Mayans believe the world will be reborn- Secrets Silversands Rivera Cancun, Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun and Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun are celebrating with a month of Mayan events beginning Thanksgiving, November 22, 2012 and ending Friday, December 21, 2012.

The participating resorts will host exciting events and activities for guests to learn more about the culture while having fun. Our Secrets Entertainment Teams will lead guests in the epic celebration! Each resort has different plans and will include the following:

  • Mayan Calendar Explanation – Learn the significant of Dec. 21st

Olympic Fun at Secrets Maroma Beach

Recently, guests have been having a fabulous time watching the Olympics and participating in our very own Olympic games during their stays with us at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun! Our Entertainment Team has definitely gone above and beyond to ensure that our visitors are getting the most out of their experience. Celebrating Cinco de Mayo at Secrets Silversands

If there’s one thing we know how to do at Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun, it’s how to throw a good party! We had so much fun celebrating Cinco de Mayo with our guests yesterday! The festivities and themed activities started first thing in the morning and ended well after the sun went down.

Throughout the day, we hosted a Mexican lottery game, balloon darts, pin the tail on the donkey, tequila tasting and even a class on how to make our famous guacamole!

As the sun went down, we hosted a fantastic Mexican buffet with traditional dishes, flavored margaritas and of course more tequila! Guests enjoyed live Mariachi music, along with an exciting Mexican show performed by our Entertainment Team.

Secrets Silversands Celebrates National Margarita Day

In honor of National Margarita Day on February 22nd, Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun hosted an interactive Margarita lesson for our guests. We started the lesson by telling the story of how the Margarita was invented. Legend has it that a socialite named Margarita came up with the tasty cocktail during a cliffside party in Acapulco in 1948.

During our lesson, we made taught our guests how to make Tamarind Margaritas and Guava and Cucumber Margaritas! Both versions were very different, yet equally refreshing and delicious. Take a look at some of the pictures from the event:
