Secrets Silversands Celebrates National Margarita Day

In honor of National Margarita Day on February 22nd, Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun hosted an interactive Margarita lesson for our guests. We started the lesson by telling the story of how the Margarita was invented. Legend has it that a socialite named Margarita came up with the tasty cocktail during a cliffside party in Acapulco in 1948.

During our lesson, we made taught our guests how to make Tamarind Margaritas and Guava and Cucumber Margaritas! Both versions were very different, yet equally refreshing and delicious. Take a look at some of the pictures from the event:

Facebook Meet-Up Details

Well as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. We had so much fun at our first ever Facebook Meet-up at Secrets St James & Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay. Hundreds of Facebook fans came together, all with a similar passion for vacationing at our resorts and enjoying the beauty of Jamaica. We think “Facebook Jim” put the overall feeling of the event into words very well:

“A tremendous time was had by all. We ate, we drank, we danced, we sang, and yes, we even cried. It was a time everyone should get to experience at least once in their lives. Myself, and everyone around me was overwhelmed. Thank you Secrets for all your hard work on this event. You have set the bar high for any future FB functions.”

This may have been the first, but it certainly won’t be the last Facebook meet-up at our resort. World Renowned Magician Fernando Keops Coming Soon to Secrets Resorts & Spas

Fernando Keops, a world renowned professional magician, will be performing at our resorts in the Riviera Maya from November 22nd through February 6th!

Sharing Secrets at Secrets Resorts & Spas

We’ve launched a unique program at Secrets Resorts & Spas called “Sharing Secrets”. These events are hosted daily by our Entertainment Team who works with different departments at the resort to come up with an interesting theme or resort secret to share with our guests each day.

Some examples include, a “history of rum class” with a head bartender, a “paella cooking class” with a resort chef or a “cigar aficionado course” with a representative from the resort cigar shop. Of course, we can’t forget our “salsa & merengue classes” with our Entertainment Team dancers, as well as our “wine tasting events” with the resort Sommelier.

The Sharing Secrets program typically occurs each day after lunch. It is a great opportunity for our guests to mingle with one another while gaining insight into the “secrets” of a successful resort operation. Check the daily Sundial while visiting our resorts for information about the daily events.

Reggae Love Now Playing at Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James Montego Bay

When visiting Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James Montego Bay, you will be blown away by our newest show, Reggae Love! This Jamaican musical takes you on a journey through everyday life in Jamaica using a colorful array of energetic choreography, original songs and classic favorites with a twist!

Reggae Love is not your average resort production, but a professionally produced heartfelt production that features our infamous house band PACE and showcases the singing talents of amazing individuals we’ve recruited from across the Island. You won’t believe their talent!

This show will have you clapping your hands, stomping your feet and singing along to tunes such as “One Love” as you get to know the true sense of the Jamaican lifestyle! The show is now playing every Wednesday night. It is something you don’t want to miss!

MLB Playoffs at Secrets Resorts & Spas

It’s that time of year again – the MLB playoffs! Well here at Secrets Resorts & Spas, we look for any reason to gather together and cheer on our favorite teams! As the final 8 teams enter post-season this week, you can be sure that we will be televising the playoff games at our resorts.

If you’re planning to visit us during the World Series, you can expect a major party on the beach every night for the games! We televise the games on a big screen TV on the beach and offer plenty of traditional tailgate food, frosty beer and tropical drinks for our guests to enjoy,
