Make it at Home: Chocomint

Our cocktails at Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun are nothing short of fabulous. Each day, our talented bartenders come up with a delicious recipe to feature as our drink of the day. We recently captured a video of our bartender Juan in action as he whipped up a Chocomint for one of our guests. Take a look:

Here’s the recipe for the Chocomint for those of you who would like to make it at home! 

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz light rum
  • ¾ oz mint liquor
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup cream
  • 1 cup ice
  • Chocolate syrup

Directions:

  • Mix the rum, mint liquor, coconut milk, cream and ice in a blender until the drink has a smooth milkshake-like consistency. 
  • Drizzle chocolate syrup in the glass.
  • Pour the blended drink in the glass, garnish with a cherry & enjoy!

Make it at Home: Dirty Monkey

One of the most popular drinks at Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun is our Dirty Monkey. Whether you are relaxing by the pool, lying on the beach or enjoying cocktails before dinner, it’s the perfect drink to set the mood for your vacation.

For those of you who’d like to re-create a piece of your vacation at home, here’s our recipe for the Dirty Monkey! 

Ingredients:

1 oz. of rum
½ oz. of coffee liquor (Kalhua)
1 oz. of coconut cream
2 oz. of pineapple juice
¼ of a fresh banana

Directions:

Blend all ingredients together with a cup of ice for 30 seconds. Decorate the glass with chocolate syrup and enjoy!

“Secrets of Resort Chefs” Show Visits Secrets Wild Orchid & Secrets St. James

Secrets of Resorts Chefs is a show hosted by Tim Laird, an authority on wines and spirits with more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. In addition to being connoisseur of fine wines, spirits and champagnes, Tim is also a gourmet chef and a master at entertaining. He makes hundreds of appearances every year on radio and television programs every year, and is also an author of the book “That’s Entertaining!”.

Secrets of Resorts Chefs, one of his many programs, is a resort/food oriented show that takes you behind the scenes and into the kitchens of some of the world’s finest resorts.
